Sheetz, the family-owned and operated restaurant and convenience chain across the Mid-Atlantic, opened its second location in greater Columbus on Wednesday, June 17 at 5238 Alum Creek Drive in Obetz.

“This is the second of more than a dozen Sheetz locations opening this year in Central Ohio, with a total of more than 50 to open by 2025,” said Isaac Gold, Vice President of Real Estate for Skilken Gold, Sheetz’s exclusive Central Ohio real estate developer. “We’re thrilled to be part of the company’s aggressive growth and excited to see its doors open for business.”

The first Sheetz location opened in mid-April on Sunbury Road in Delaware, Ohio.

Deeply committed to the communities it serves and in honor of this grand opening, Sheetz will present two donations to the Special Olympics of Ohio. The first donation, raised year-long through Sheetz’s in-store donation campaign at checkout, totals $67,148 from customer donations throughout Ohio. A second donation of $2,500 will also be presented to the Special Olympics of Ohio which is part of a long-standing donation tradition at every new store opening.

A proud supporter of the Special Olympics for over 25 years, Sheetz also extends its support to the organization through product donations and event volunteers. Sheetz will support the Special Olympics 2021 Summer Games Reimagined this month, providing over 800 meals to fuel Ohio athletes.

Sheetz will also donate $2,500 to the Mid-Ohio Food Collective, which provides more than 155,000 meals every day and distributes more than 60 million pounds of food annually to hungry individuals across central and eastern Ohio. Sheetz has donated a total of $37,500, along with 2,000 meals, to the food bank since the company first broke ground on its location in Columbus.

Named 2020 Best Regional Fast Food Chain by USA TODAY’s 10Best Readers’ Choice travel awards, Sheetz will offer its award-winning Made-to-Order (MTO®) menu at this location where customers can order any of Sheetz’s customized specialty drinks or food items around the clock.

This store location will employ approximately 30 individuals, the majority of which are full-time. Named to the Fortune 100 Best Place to Work for List seven times in the last eight years, Sheetz offers competitive pay and benefits packages to all employees, including medical and dental insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, college tuition reimbursement, quarterly bonuses, an employee stock ownership plan, vacation time and more.

Additionally, Sheetz recently announced a $2/hour wage increase for all of its 18,000 store employees which went into effect on May 21, 2021. This permanent increase equates to a $50 million annual investment and comes on the heels of the company’s $28.5 million investment in store employee wages announced in February. Sheetz also announced a $12 million investment in a summer stimulus program which will provide store employees an additional $1/hour wage increase from May 21, 2021 until September 23, 2021.

Sheetz is focused on continuing to deliver on its mission to provide total customer focus across all the communities it serves with the safety of all who walk through its doors as the top priority. As a result, Sheetz will continue to encourage social distancing in its stores, conduct employee well-checks prior to every shift and carry out enhanced daily cleaning and sanitization protocols with a focus on high touch surface areas such as gas pumps, order points, counter tops, checkout lines, door handles and more.

Sheetz currently operates 624 store locations across Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio and Maryland, with all locations open 24/7, 365 days a year.
